Food and refreshments are available at the show, but if you're looking for something a little more substantial, here is a list of some local restaurants, courtesy of "Karl" <hondaruehs at aol dot com>:
China Paradise
(Yahoo
Map)
1082 Hamburg Tpke.
Wayne NJ 07470
(973) 696-6464
Very nice Chinese food, medium prices, Highly recommend the Poo Poo platter, they have a nice butterfly shrimp dish with onion
and sweet red sauce. They make a mean Zombie (drink) from what I remember. Inside is very nice with
many areas (rooms) to seem smaller than it really is inside. From Elks club turn right onto
Hinchman Ave, go to Hamburg Turnpike turn left, past Valley Road, up hill, past
Church Lane and watch on the right for semi fancy looking red place, please enjoy, say Hi to
Lilly....
V&J Pizza
It is so very close to show it would be sinful to not have some.. They have
actual Italians making real pizza, calzone, antipasto, mussels, heros, pastas, all the real deal. No buffalo wings
BS, I like wings but this is no Pizza hut. Real Pizza from real Italians! Sorry to make big deal, I am in
Arizona now where real pizza in unheard of. From Elks club, turn right on
Hinchman Ave, before Hamburg Tpke. turn left into first shopping center - it is in the mini mall
towards Hinchman Ave, maybe about 3-4 stores from the end. Tell them Erich (happy man) sent you, Erich is my brother in NJ.
V&J Pizza seems strange on the Map, maybe they changed the name, still
so close to show you could walk there in only 5 min. Check it out, it has been my
family's favorite for as long as I can remember.
Triangle Hofbrau
(Yahoo
Map)
23 State Rt 23
Pequannock NJ 07440
(973) 694-0797
Triangle Hofbrau house on Route 23 is not so close but pretty good if you need a fix for
German food. It is close to Wayne Lincoln Mercury also on Route 23. Very nice place to
have real beers with dinner, if that is your thing. From show turn left onto
Hinchman Ave, right on Ratzer Road, all the way to the end right (north?) on
Route 23 and soon it will be on the other side, have to make U-turn and come back to it, close to sporting goods store.
Colucci's
(Yahoo
Map)
279 Haledon Ave
Haledon NJ 07508
(973) 956-9030
Colucci's, for a nice sit-down Italian dinner/lunch, not like Pizza place. Very nice, and still medium prices. I highly recommend
a nice seafood shellfish pasta dish with red sauce. Save room for a very nice (real Italian) desert and
espresso/cappuccino from one of those big huge brass machines. They have a
piano player sometimes with a glass for tips, very nice place. It's not in Wayne, but pretty
close, From Elks club, turn left onto Hinchman Ave, to Ratzer Road make left, past JFK
School up hill, past
Brother Bruno's pizza (also good but not as good as V&J), past the college, down the hill, past Dunkin
Donuts, keep going, on the right across from a church will be Colucci's, not very
good parking, I think it was across the street or in back/side of the place.
